At Windmill Creek Academy, learning extends beyond the classroom. Our annual events and traditions create joyful experiences, lasting memories, and strong connections among students, families, and staff. These hallmark events celebrate creativity, culture, and community, ensuring that every child has an opportunity to learn, explore, and have fun in a meaningful way.

Windmill Creek Academy joyfully hosts special annual events for all of our students.  They include:

  • Carnival – parents are encouraged to attend this event which includes a giant bounce house, games, prizes, freshly made cotton candy, snow cones, face painting and more!
  • Holidays Around the World – our VPK students put on their annual Christmas Pageant as they sing 10 musical numbers and perform how children around the world celebrate the holidays
  • Muffins with Mom (the Friday before Mother’s Day)
  • Donuts with Dad (the Friday before Father’s Day)
  • Visit from Santa
  • Valentine’s Day Party
  • Patrick’s Day Party
  • School Spirit Week (wear your favorite team sports shirts, colors, mix and match days, etc.)
  • Summer Fun Program – as a year-round school, our “Summer Fun Program” highlights 11 weekly summer-friendly themes that concludes each week with a “dress up” day within the theme (i.e., Dress up like a Prince or Princess, “Superhero,” Cowboy/girl,” etc.). Every Wednesday is “WATER DAY” where your student will have the opportunity to slide down our enormous water slide and engage in water-fun, sprinkler, water-table activities.
  • Career Day – parents of our older students are encouraged to come to the classroom and share about their career
  • Fire Safety – yearly visit from the City of Naples Fire Department with their fire truck
  • Halloween – the students have the opportunity to dress up, trick-or-treat between classes and parade around the school campus
  • Thanksgiving Feast
  • Seuss Birthday Week – the students explore the wonderful books and stories of Dr. Seuss culminating in making birthday cupcakes for Dr. Seuss’s birthday!
  • VPK Field Trips – the students have an opportunity to go one two, off-site field trips during the VPK school year. It is a great way to learn and explore in a new and different learning environment.  Parents are encouraged to join!  Past locations have included: Naples Botanical Garden, Children’s Museum of Naples (C’MON), Naples Zoo

Celebrations & Special Events

Carnival

A family favorite! Parents are invited to join in the fun with a giant bounce house, games, prizes, face painting, cotton candy, snow cones, and more. This exciting event is a highlight of the year.

Holidays Around the World

A cherished tradition where our VPK students put on a Christmas Pageant, performing multiple musical numbers while showcasing how different cultures celebrate the holidays. A beautiful blend of learning and celebration.

Visit from Santa

A magical moment where Santa visits Windmill Creek Academy to spread holiday cheer and bring smiles to our little learners.

Valentine’s Day & St. Patrick’s Day Parties

Our students enjoy festive classroom parties, themed crafts, and fun activities to celebrate love, friendship, and a little Irish luck.

Halloween Parade & Trick-or-Treating

Students dress up in their favorite costumes and parade around campus, enjoying a fun-filled day of trick-or-treating between classrooms.

Thanksgiving Feast

A heartwarming event where students and teachers come together to celebrate gratitude, friendship, and community with a festive Thanksgiving meal.

Family Engagement & Parent Involvement

Muffins with Mom & Donuts with Dad

A special morning celebration where moms and dads are honored just before Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, creating cherished moments with their little ones.

Career Day

Parents of our older students are invited to share insights about their careers, helping to inspire young minds and introduce them to different professions.

School Spirit Week

A fun-filled week where students show their school pride with themed dress-up days, including:

  • Crazy Hair Day

Dr. Seuss Birthday Week

A week dedicated to the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss, featuring themed activities, storytelling, and a special birthday cupcake celebration.

Summer Fun Program

As a year-round school, our Summer Fun Program ensures that students stay engaged, active, and creative all summer long.

  • Themed Weeks: Each week features a fun dress-up day, such as Superhero Day, Prince & Princess Day, or Cowboy/Girl Day.
  • Water Day Wednesdays: Students slide down our giant water slide and enjoy water play with sprinklers, water tables, and outdoor activities.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Fire Safety Day

A visit from the City of Naples Fire Department, where students get an up-close look at a fire truck and learn essential fire safety tips.

VPK Field Trips

Our Pre-K students take part in two off-site field trips each school year, offering hands-on learning experiences. Past trips have included:

  • Naples Botanical Garden
  • Children’s Museum of Naples (C’MON)
  • Naples Zoo
